| Girl Scout Opportunity Fund |
Girl Scouts, San Diego-Imperial Council, Inc. is committed to ensuring that every girl, everywhere, has the chance to participate in Girl Scouting. For families who might otherwise be unable to afford Girl Scouting, assistance is available through the Council's Opportunity Fund.
How can Opportunity Funds be used?
Funds may be used to help cover the costs of:
- Membership in Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) for girls or adults (Submit
a MB-0005A form which can be obtained from the Resource Center at Balboa,
Escondido, or Imperial Valley.)
- Troop/group dues or start-up fee
- Uniform pieces, Council ID tabs, troop numerals and membership pin
- Handbooks
- Badges/interest projects, Try-Its, Daisy Petals
- Service unit and troop events that directly relate to or support the Girl Scout program
- Council events
- Camperships for resident and day camps (Submit a campership application with the Opportunity Fund Request Form.)
- GSUSA activities
- Outside events promoted by Girl Scouts
What is the application process?
Who submits the application?
- A parent or guardian may independently submit a request for funds for a girl. - or -
- A parent or guardian may join with the girl's troop or group leader to make the request together. (All checks and materials will be mailed to the leader.)
